FreeStyle Festival
FreeStyle Festival is a unique performance opportunity held during the Georgia Thespian Conference, open to any registered and attending troupe. Designed as a noncompetitive showcase, FreeStyle celebrates a wide variety of short performances—ranging from student-written works, scene studies, and short plays to mime pieces, puppet shows, musical theatre dance numbers, and experimental theatre. If you have a performance between 10 and 20 minutes long that might not fit into other event categories, this is the perfect venue to share it in an intimate, supportive setting. We especially encourage student-created content. Troupes may submit more than one entry as space allows. To participate, complete a separate entry form for each performance and submit all materials and payment by the deadline.
Screening
All FreeStyle Festival entries must submit a video of the performance to be screened by January 3, 2026 via Openwater (more information to come on how to submit). Schools will be notified of acceptance by January 13, 2026.

Rights & Royalties
If your performance includes published material, your school is responsible for securing the proper performance rights and paying all associated royalties and licensing fees directly to the publisher.

Performance Time
Each performance must run between 10 and 20 minutes, including set-up and breakdown. Groups will not be allowed to exceed the 20-minute maximum. Please provide the most accurate estimate of your total performance time on the entry form.
